The Spain WingFoil League presents the final of the National Circuit 2024 in Oliva from June 14 to 16, host of the circuit since 2021
Oliva is a tourist destination committed to wind sports, regular venue of the Spain Kiteboarding League since 2017 and the Spain Wingfoil League since 2021. Playas de Oliva will witness the Final of the S.W.L 2024 Circuit for the third consecutive year, consolidating itself as one of the best spots for the practice of an emerging sport such as Wingfoil.
The S.W.L. 2024 Circuit will end in Oliva – Valencia from June 14 to 16 with the support of the Oliva City Council, Club Náutico Oliva and Oliva Nova Resort, in addition the official titles of the Autonomous Championship of Valencia in the form of Surf Freestyle and Surf Slalom will be disputed.
The Circuit is undisputedly led by the World Champion Nia Suardíaz in the women’s category in both Surf Freestyle and Surf Slalom, in the men’s category is the international Jerome Cloetens who leads the Surf Freestyle followed by the young promises Nathan Berguer and the Canarian Ancor Sosa who also leads the classification of Surf Slalom followed closely by the Galician Martin Tieles and the Canarian relief Jeremy Rodriguez who debuted in the first event of the season in Chiclana with a well-deserved third place.
The best national athletes have already confirmed their attendance, highlighting the presence of the young values of this sport that already shine in the World Cup: Nathan Berguer, Leo Suardíaz, Manuel Morillo or the international Benji Castenskiold coming from Baja California.
Juan Antonio Martín (Peluka) CEO of the Spain Wingfoil League and Spain Kiteboarding League, thanked the unconditional support of Oliva Turismo since 2017 as Oliva has witnessed the best events of both circuits with the presence of World Champions such as the nationals Liam Whaley or Alex Pastor, the Brazilian Carlos Mario or the Hawaiian Keahi de Aboitiz in different editions of the event. It is also very important to highlight Oliva as the first venue in the history of the Junior Wingfoil World Cup in 2022, organized by the S.W.L.
He also highlighted the role of the Spain Wingfoil League in the International Wingfoil base, since for the third consecutive year will organize the only Junior World Cup in La Palma from 27 to 30 June.
On the other hand the Mayoress of Oliva, Yolanda Pastor highlighted the joint work of the Delegations of Tourism, Sports and Beach for the management of the event, as well as the line of work marked for years by the different government teams after the promotion of sport as a tool to boost local tourism.
Likewise, the Councillor for Tourism, Salva Llopis stressed the importance of such events for the city, given the attendance of athletes from all over Spain with a great return in hotel occupancy and restoration. Also highlighting the collaboration of local companies such as El Nautic Oliva, Oliva Nova Resort and the Yacht Club itself in the logistics of the event.
