La segunda etapa del Alpine Lakes Tour 2017 tuvo lugar en el lago Aiguebelette, una parte del lago que es reserva natural donde se prohíben los barcos de motor. Es famoso por sus eventos de remo, en 2015 se llevaron a cabo en este lago los campeonatos mundiales de remo. ¿La razón? ¡Es muy plano! Es por eso que esta etapa se llama «The very flat race».
Las regulaciones de reserva natural establecen un límite de 100 competidores para eventos en el lago Aiguebelette. Las inscripciones se agotaron en 3 días y 2 meses antes del evento.
Hubo diferentes carreras: una corta (5 km) y larga distancia (15 km) por la mañana, luego una carrera de kids en las tablas Red Paddle 10’6 justo después de la pausa para el almuerzo, luego Beach Race (3 vueltas, 5 km ). Y para concluir una divertida competición de Red Paddle Dragon Race!
Los hermanos Teulade (Francia, equipo Oxbow) ganaron la larga distancia y la beach race, Peter Tritten (Starboard, Suiza) terminó tercero en la larga distancia y Lorenzo Marchetti (Infinity, Italia) tercero en la beach race. En la parte femenina, Sigrid Baumgartner (Starboard, Austria) ganó la larga distancia, Lidvina Champendal (SIC, Suiza) ganó la beach race.

ENGLISH REPORT
The second stage of the Alpine Lakes Tour 2017 took place last saturday on Lake Aiguebelette, a quite lake part of a natural reserve where motor boats are forbidden. It’s famous for its rowing events, the world rowing championships took place there in 2015. The reason ? It’s so flat ! That’s why this stage is called «the Very Flat Race».
The natural reserve regulations set a limit of 100 competitors for events on Lake Aiguebelette. The tickets were sold out in 3 days 2 months before the event.
5 races were scheduled : short (5 km) and long distance (15 km) in the morning, then a kids race on Red Paddle 10’6 max race boards just after the lunch break, then a Beach Race (3 loops, 5 km) and a conclusion and fun end, a Red Paddle Dragon Race !
The Teulade Brothers (France, team Oxbow) won the long distance and the beach race, Peter Tritten (Starboard, Switzerland) finished third on the long distance and Lorenzo Marchetti (Infinity, Italy) third on the beach race. On the women side, Sigrid Baumgartner (Starboard, Austria) won the long distance, Lidvina Champendal (SIC, Switzerland) won the beach race.
Alpine Lakes Tour next stage wild be held on Lake Embrun in the southern alps and part of the Outdoor Mix Festival (May 5-10th). Registration are open. The following stages are the FAT & POP Races on Lake Annecy on the same spot as the GlaGla race (Talloires, June 11th). Registration opened yesterday. The main race will be a complete tour of Lake Annecy, that is to say 30 km !
